The Soldiers Table Unveiled
The third episode concluded with a major cliffhanger and introduced the first table of heroes who will split off from the primary party to embark on their separate journey, distinct from the additional parties.
The combat-focused team includes Teor (portrayed by Travis Willingham), the agile character (the talented performer), the strong-willed figure (the cast member), Wicander (the player), and Kattigan (Robbie Daymond).
The Reason for Division
With an extensive roster, it was obvious from the outset that having everyone at one table would be unfeasible.
This explains, the first four episodes of the new season serve as an Prelude, connecting the personal journeys before splitting into three distinct groups: Fighters, Schemers, and Seekers.
What Defines the Soldiers Table
According to the DM, the combat-focused party is for adventurers who are drawn to a traditionally charged fight-heavy story mode where peaceful solutions are scarce.
At first glance, characters like the squeamish cleric Wicander might look out of place, but the developments of episode 3 make it clear why these particular heroes are perfectly fit for the combat party.
Why They Must Go
First, the team knows exactly where to head next after a violent first encounter with the enemy group.
An old friend of Thjazi Fang—whose demise initiated the narrative’s action—used The Crow Keepers for his selfish purposes, entering Thjazi’s hideout, attacking Thimble, and stealing all the powerful objects to sell off.
The traitor then paid off his obligations and fled to a fortified location in the northern region, above Dol-Makjar, with Cyd Pridesire pursuing him.
Personal Motivations
Moreover, each member has a personal reason to leave the city the metropolitan area:
- The rogue, as Thjazi’s partner and trusted friend, seeks retribution.
- The adventurer has experience in the northern area and advises that it is a dangerous environment.
- The warrior and Wicander, having disobeyed his relatives’ demands to eliminate the fighter and instead rescued him, have no safe haven.
- However, their position as prominent individuals in the powerful family could help the group enter locations they typically wouldn’t be able to.
- Furthermore, Teor swore a life debt to The savior for his rescue and will now follow him everywhere.
Fugitives
In addition, all of them are sought by the authorities that rule the setting for a multiple motives, making staying in the city too risky:
- Thimble and The hero are recognized lawbreakers.
- The warrior and The cleric betrayed the powerful family and the horde of evil beings they are aligned with.
- The target is marked for death by the family.
This results in them few options but to head to Timmony in quest for the antagonist.
